Couple executed in the street, their child injured
Port-au-Prince, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 – A new tragedy has rocked Haiti. Christina Campbell Renfort and her husband, Bazelais Renfort, were brutally murdered this morning in Delmas 41 by heavily armed men. The couple was riding in their Toyota Land Cruiser (registration AA-49933) when they were attacked.
A targeted attack in broad daylight
According to witnesses on the scene, the attackers gave the couple no chance. They riddled their vehicle with more than 20 rounds of ammunition before fleeing. Their actions suggest a well-planned attack.
Bazelais Renfort, a computer engineer, and his wife Christina, were well-known figures in the Delmas 33 district, where they ran an electronics business.
A child injured in shock
The couple had two children. Unfortunately, one of them, who was in the car at the time of the attack, was injured. He is currently receiving intensive care at a hospital whose name has not been released for security reasons.
Violence continues to plague Haiti
This assassination comes amidst a context of extreme violence that Haiti has been experiencing for several years. In 2025, armed attacks and homicides increased.
According to a recent UN report, more than 1,600 people were killed in the first three months of this year alone. This figure raises the alarm that Haiti risks becoming the country with the highest murder rate in the world .
A population at the end of its rope
As armed gangs control more and more territory, the Haitian population lives in constant insecurity. The Renforts are unfortunately just another name on the long list of victims.
Nalky Media salutes the memory of Christina and Bazelais, and expresses its solidarity with their hard-hit family.
