A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a mass shooting that left four young victims wounded in Chicago’s West Garfield Park neighborhood. The shooting occurred on July 27, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., shaking a community already struggling with rising violence.

According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an altercation between the suspect and a group of teenagers. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire, hitting multiple victims.

Residents of West Garfield Park expressed shock and frustration after learning that such a young suspect is facing charges for such a violent crime.
